#57 – Give up something for the 40 days of Lent.

To start of the completion of items on my list we have my first one.

I obviously had to start this before I even posted the list up, but believe me even 40 days ago it was a work in progress. It’s so hard to think of things to try and make you a better person, to find thing you can, want and will complete without them being ever so easy.

Right. I gave up chocolate for Lent. Good old chocolate. And let me tell you I found it quite hard. I’m not exactly a chocaholic, but I do have the odd occasion where I have a sweet tooth. The first few weeks were pretty good, it was going smoothly. People at work weren’t trying to entice me or eating chocolate in front of me. All good.

Then we hit the weeks in the run up to Easter where every other tv advert is showing some kind of variety of the sweet stuff and then it started to get hard. People around me were buying their Easter eggs, going on about how they’d already eaten them and had to buy more. So unfair.

But I managed it.

And now I’m more than making up for it with my four(!) Easter Eggs, even though they haven’t been opened yet. I’ve promised one to Mark, because I’m a great girlfriend like that!

  1. Give up chocolate? Blasphemy!!

LOL Seriously. Kudos to you! It would be REALLY hard for me.

Must admit I really thought I was going to fall at the first hurdle.
