It appears I’ve put on a bit of weight.

Tonight I popped over to the family planning clinic for the pill and was given the usual assessment – blood pressure, weight, bmi. We all know I’m not a skinny minny and I’ve put on 3kg, back to what I was at my first weigh in with the nurse in October! I thought this gym malarky was to help me lose weight!

I’m going to have to rethink my diet, which is terribly bad at the minute, and try to eat much more healthily.

Any ideas, girls?

  1. Change one thing at a time. “Diets” don’t work. The only way is to change your eating habits for life. Start small. Start with one meal and work your way through the day. It honestly is the best way to go.
Also, if you are new to working out, you will GAIN weight before you lose. This isn’t a bad thing. Muscle weighs more than fat, therefore the scale may go up or stay the same for a little while. Good luck. You can do it. Just take baby steps. =)

  2. I don’t even have advice – I’ve been eating really unhealthy things lately.

And I picked up some weight as well, due to winter eating. I wonder why I eat more when it’s cold.

Good luck, and let me know what you end up doing! I need some advise too!

  3. I read this interesting thing about diets that said “if you want to eat healthy only eat food that has one ingredient”.

Also i would suggest lots of water and hold back on eating alot of fast food.

Good luck….I struggle with junk food addiction myself…but im trying to cut down x

I need to find something to suppress my appetite and then i may loose weight again. That was one bonus with the smoking thing, i hardly ate so therefore I stayed lighter *L* These days however I’m sitting a few kilos over my usual and i’m not happy about that. I may have to bite the bullet and exercise more *grumbles*

Hey speaking of unhealthy eating *L* Your package is ready! (I’ve included a few treats that you may want to share around if you don’t want to eat them all yourself *L*) Just let me know where to send it to and I’ll post it the next time I’m in town. Oh. Email the details to my arzoah@hotmail.com account. Not sure if you email the fledgling- address above it will come through properly.

    Hello from Col/Bunko!
I’ve been struggling with weight for about 4 years now after getting seriously injured at work, which complicated the fact that I already had arthritis, and while I’ll never be as skinny as I once was (I’d look ill now if I lost that much weight, lol!) I’ve come to make my goal to be as healthy as possible regardless of what size I am at any given time. I am still trying to lose weight, but it’s not my primary goal anymore. I watch what I eat to feel good instead of for the purpose of getting to a certain weight and I exercise as much as my body allows me to. Healthy at any size!

  6. Thanks girls!

I’m hoping to make this a change for life. I’ve been a fussy eater for far too long and I need to do something about it. I’m going to eat in moderation, watch the calories but not deny myself things I do like. I’ll cut out the junk food, watch the portion sizes and do my best. Above all I’ll cross my fingers all this works!

You should worry, I stepped on our talking scales the other day, and it asked if two of us could get off !!!! LOL – Thinking about starting my own Superhero called ” LardBoy ” !!

    Now….where’s those Jaffa Cakes ??

    • lol I think if our scales could talk it would probably say the same to me. After speaking to my personal trainer tonight we think it’s just muscle because I haven’t actually put fat on anywhere, now I don’t feel so bad.

Save me some Jaffa Cakes… they’re my fav!
